Abigail J. Lawrence
a 20 year veteran teacher of the arts, Abigail crafted the curriculum for the Personal Development Classes when her students needed more than what was being offered.
Additionally Abigail has been teaching throughout the northwest a variety of classes including; Acting, Acting II, Acting for the Camera, Commercial Acting, Audition Technique, Monologue, Cold Reading, Voice and Diction, Improvisation, Sketch Theater,
Personal Development, Public Speaking, Scene Study, Image, Soap and Sitcom Acting, Etiquette, and Drama for kids.
One of Abigail’s greatest joys is that she has been able to help classes create and perform their own shows for the past ten years.
A highly acclaimed actress and director Abigail has been seen as: Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Dionne in HAIR!, Physicians’ Assistant in Tommy Belle in Ah! Wilderness, Various Women in The Heidi Chronicles and Marta in Company.
When not on stage Abigail loves teaching and sharing her love of the craft of theater. In addition to working with a variety of theatre companies, Abigail co- founded The Estrogen Festival with her sister Valory, to nurture new playwrights.
Abigail has had extensive experience as a teacher, director and professional actress on both stage and film.
Valory J. Lawrence
teaches theater at Portland State University, Portland Community College, Mt Hood Community College and has performed, taught, and directed in the NW since 1986. Since then, she has worked in community and professional theatre and has been teaching dramatics to elementary through adult students.
Valory created a new play workshop in correlation with a Parks and Rec program which has been successfully serving the community for 10 years. At Portland State she teaches classes in acting as well as Auditioning and a class she created: Stand-Up and Sketch Comedy Writing and Performance.
As a playwright Valory has worked in a variety of theaters on new works as well as promoting her own new works. Valory is the original quadruple threat Playwright, actor, singer and comedienne. Around Portland, Valory has worked with the Portland Civic Theater, Oregon Stage Company, Musical Theater Company, Broadway Rose, Portland Actors Ensemble, Oregon Children’s Theater, Triangle Productions and she has toured regionally with Rossi Entertainment.
In addition to working locally with a variety of theatre companies, Valory founded The Estrogen Festival to nurture new playwrights. Valory has had extensive experience as a teacher, children's theater presenter, and professional actress on both stage and film.
